Frequently Asked Questions

Are there wet weather and dry weather options for our ceremony?

One of Newhall’s great benefits is the flexibility the estate allows. During the summer months, ceremonies can be conducted in the walled garden – both open air and under a canopy. When the weather is less kind, moving indoors to the Sun Room or using the Coach House are popular options. The Sun Room looks particularly exquisite on a snowy, winters day!

How close to the house are the cottages?

The estate cottages lie adjacent to the house and are a two-minute walk from the house.

What activities are we able to take part in on the Estate?

Newhall has fishing and a tennis court, which are both accessible to guests, although we do ask that you bring your own rods and rackets. Should you forget, the glen is home to some enchanting walks – be sure to look out for the prehistoric moss and the Sandy Cave! In addition, with prior arrangements, guests can partake in clay shooting, 4×4 driving and archery. The estate is comprised of 1,100 acres, which is accessible to all guests with exclusive hire. As such, should you wish to have an activity beyond our standard offering, we will do our utmost to accommodate this.

Can we have fireworks?

We allow fireworks on the estate, but do ask that this is confirmed in advance. Qualified professionals are required to supervise the lighting of fireworks.

Do you provide winter weddings?

The Estate is beautiful in both winter and summer and we pride ourselves on being a year-round venue. Both the Sun Room and Coach House lend themselves beautifully to the magic and decadence of winter weddings. The house provides a stunning entertainment space, with its roaring log fires and rooms full of character.

Are children allowed in the venue?

Prior to being a wedding venue, Newhall Estate was the family home to the Kennedy family. We would like it to feel like your home whilst you are here – children are welcomed. We encourage them to have fun exploring the glen, learning its secrets, visiting the waterfalls and caves, and letting their imaginations run wild!

Are we able to arrive by coach?

Yes, we are permitted to have two full-size coaches. Coaches can drop guests at the front door and turn in front of the house.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes, there is onsite parking for guests.

Is there disabled access to the venue?

The Coach House is fully accessible and includes disabled toilet facilities. An accessible ground floor bedroom, along with disabled toilet facilities, have been installed in the house.
